After having her campaign officially launched by President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Aisha Binani is widely expected to become the next governor of Adamawa, according to Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen.
In a statement, Tallen thanked the president for backing Binani, the sole female candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governor in Adamawa State.
Because of this, she stated, “Nigerian Women are truly hopeful of victory for Binani. By this singular act, Mr President has shown that he is a true gender champion and an unrivalled progressive.
“We are also grateful to the good people of Adamawa, men and women, young and old, who came out in their large numbers to support the candidature of our sister.
“With the unprecedented crowd and different solidarity messages, the victory of this noble state woman who has defied all odds to reach this level is assured.”
She expressed gratitude to the spouses of governors, female ministers, female heads of MDAs, and members of civil society organisations, as well as APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu and Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
She reaffirmed the federal government’s resolve to improve the narratives surrounding the engagement of Nigerian women.
