The disparity between manicures and pedicures depends on the body part which obtains the beauty therapy. The phrases manicure and pedicure are so familiar that almost all women are aware of them. This is because they are processes taken anytime a lady goes to the beauty salon to make themselves more beautiful and confident. It might be surprising to know that even a little girl has an idea about this because she most times goes with her mother to these beauty salons or perhaps sees her mother perform these beauty processes at home. Although there are some disparities between manicures and pedicures, both are grooming methods used by women predominantly.

What is Manicure?

Manicure has to do with the leisure and beautifying of the hands. As it is in your mind when it comes to your manicure, the nails are trimmed and groomed. In a manicure, the process involves soaking the hands, buffing and trimming the nails, the cuticles are taken back then out, and the dry skin is taken out from the hands. Lastly, the hand is massaged during the process of the manicure. Most times, the nails are polished too.

What is a Pedicure?

Pedicure is a phrase used for the comparable nature of manicures. In this term, it is done to the feet. This implies that in pedicures, the toenails receive beauty therapy. In a pedicure, the toenails get trimmed and then groomed just the same way the nail was beautified. The disparity here, if any, has to do with how the foot back is scrubbed to remove the dead skin cells. In this process, the feet get soaked, trimming is done to the nails and buffing, the cuticles are taken back and out, and the rough and dry skin is taken from the feet just like it is done in a manicure. Lastly, a massage is given to the feet, and the toenails also get polished.

A pedicure’s attention mostly focuses on cleaning ingrown nails, brittle nails, and hanging nails which causes the issue for anyone. Every other process becomes easier whenever the hands or feet are dipped into the warm water. After a manicure or pedicure is applied to a person, their hands and feet get enhanced and the total look of their hands and their feet improves. These two processes are often referred to as ManiPedi which is the short word for manicure and pedicure.

Difference Between Manicure and Pedicure

By definition, a manicure has to do with the beauty therapy given to the hand. At the same time, pedicure has to do with the beauty therapy given to the feet. The nails are trimmed and filed in a manicure, and the hand may also get massaged. In a pedicure, the feet get massaged, and the toenails are filed and trimmed. Scrubbing is mostly done in a pedicure than a manicure because the back of the feet or soles has to be very soft and cleaned of all dead and dry cells. In a manicure, the hand nails get trimmed and given an attractive shape. In contrast, the pedicure makes the toenails attractive by cutting, trimming, and shaping them. A manicure provides attraction to the hands, while a pedicure provides attraction to the feet.
