Governor Hope Uzodinma is sure that the killings in Imo State are politically motivated. He has said that he is confident that God will find out who is behind the insecurity in Imo if the people keep praying hard.
The governor also told the Church to keep praying because the weapons of war that the people’s enemies use to kill and destroy can’t compare to the power of God Almighty, who protects His people when they are in trouble.
The governor spoke at the Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri on Friday. He was the special guest at the second annual “Imo Prays” event, which was held for the second time.
The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion put on the event for the first time last year. The theme for the 2022 event is “At the Name of Jesus.”
Governor Uzodinma said that anyone who says that the violence in Imo State is politically motivated is wrong, and he asked God to “arrest and expose all those involved in the dastardly act, no matter who they are or where they are.”
Uzodinma talked about what was going on in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Yemen, as well as the human suffering caused by the war in Russia and Ukraine. He said that war and insecurity had stopped development in those places, but he also said that development in Imo State was slowly picking up because the state was returning to normal.
All the Bishops in the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province of the Anglican Church were present at the prayer meeting. The meeting was led by Most Rev. (Dr.) David Onuoha, who is also the Bishop of Okigwe South Diocese.
