Muhammadu Buhari’s daughters join APC women campaign in Katsina

Two daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari, Zahra and Hanan, were among other notable figures who joined women from Nigeria northwest to flag-off Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign in Katsina on Wednesday.

Women from the Northwest of Nigeria gathered in Katsina on Wednesday to launch the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket campaign. They were joined by several notable figures, including President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughters Zahra and Hanan.

However, the wife of the APC Presidential candidate, Senator Remi Tinubu, represented their mother, Nigeria’s First Lady Aisha Buhari, who is the Grand Patron of the Tinubu-Shetima Women Presidential Campaign Team.

In her speech to the women of the Northwest at the flag-off in Katsina People’s Square, Senator Remi thanked Aminu Bello Masari, Katsina state governor, and the good people of Katsina State for their friendship and support over the years, promising that the party would not abandon the North if it were to win in 2023.

She also asked God to bless Masari with the strength to keep making significant contributions to our country for many more years.

“I want to assure you that if you vote for us, we will be there for you; we will be your partner in progress,” she said.

Senator Remi has pledged to do “whatever it takes” to ensure peace in the Northwest and Northeast border areas.

Meanwhile, Nana Shettima, wife of APC vice presidential candidate and coordinator of the Northwest Zone Women Campaign Team, urged female voters in the region to back the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in its entirety in the upcoming 2023 election.

At the same time, Masari assured the campaign that the people of Katsina State would support Tinubu until the very end when he spoke at the flag-off.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is at home with us in Katsina State. He has been with us since 1999. We have been with him for a very long time. It’s not like we have known him just yesterday.

“Katsina State is the home of APC, and APC here in Katsina stands by him 100%. We stood by him before, we stand by him today, and we will stand by him tomorrow,” Masari said.
