Southampton of the English Premier League are interested in acquiring Paul Onuachu, a scorching hot forward for KRC Genk from Nigeria.
The report claims that the English team have serious interest in the forward from Nigeria because of his stellar performance for his current club.
As a result of scoring 13 goals for his team, including three from the penalty spot, the goalscorer undoubtedly made a name for himself in the Belgian professional league.
The striker led Belgium in scoring for a while, but OH Leuven’s Mario González eventually tied him with 13 goals (including four penalty kick goals).
Nonetheless, the striker has become incredibly popular in Belgium, where shirt sales hit a new record in December 2022.
The Saints, however, have taken notice of this and are now actively pursuing a transfer for the striker to St. Mary Stadium to strengthen their team.
The Red and Whites are not having a fruitful 2022-23 Premier League season, as they now find themselves near the bottom of the league table.
The Nigerian, who is under contract with Luminus Arena until the summer of 2024 and is now valued at €15, is expected to continue until then.
Meanwhile, Onuachu’s profile with the Smurfs suggests his team would have the English club break the bank in their desperate search for the appropriate players.
