Nyesom Wike rescinds sack of Rivers broadcast stations’ chiefs

As Port Harcourt play host to 13 presidential aspirants and their supporters for primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, Gov. Nyesom Wike has assured all delegates of a memorable stay.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has rescinded the sack of the Managing Directors of Rivers State television and radio stations.

The state governor rescinded his decision after intervention and plea from the Chairman of Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), Mr John Momoh (OON), during a meeting with the governor on the sidelines of the General Assembly of BON in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital.

Mr Momoh, who is also the Chairman, Channels Media Group, while pleading on behalf of the Directors explained that although their absence from the meeting is inexcusable, he believes the sacked MD’s may have learned their lessons.
