Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State, has pledged to carry out his campaign promise to implement policies and initiatives that will improve the lives of every resident.
Further, the governor promised that his administration would remain committed to creating favourable conditions for business growth in the state.
Yesterday, in Abeokuta, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abiodun made this announcement while meeting with the Union of Tipper and Quarry of Nigeria, the Plank Seller Association, and the Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria.
Abiodun said that in the previous three and a half years, his government has built or reconstructed more than 400 kilometres of road across the state. He also said that his government has begun building affordable housing units in every area of the state.
The governor said his administration had planted thousands of trees in the state’s forest reserves. The Agro Cargo Airport’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone would allow local plank dealers to supply the zone’s furniture makers with wood.
Abiodun stated that the state’s plank dealers would be engaged to supply planks for the housing units being erected, stressing that his administration was also working to boost the entire timber value chain, from the timber to the plant and furniture production.
The governor said his government would look into additional concerns expressed by the groups at the executive council level and promised the groups even more help.
Members of the associations were encouraged to register to vote and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming midterm elections by receiving a letter from APC leader Olusegun Obasanjo.
Taiwo Oyeneye, Gbenga Marouf Faleye, and Kehinde Talubi, state chairs of the Union of Tipper and Quarry of Nigeria, the Plank Seller Association, and the Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria, respectively, thanked the governor for creating a business-friendly-environment in the state and disclosed their support for Governor Abiodun’s bid for a second term.
