PDP sacks Zamfara senator as deputy minority whip

PDP senator Sahabi Ya’u (Zamfara North) has supported grazing routes, promising to build ranches for herdsmen in his constituency to complement government efforts to tackle insecurity.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has named Senator Ibrahim Dambaba (Sokoto South) as the new Senate Minority Whip.

He replaced Senator Sahabi Yau from Zamfara State, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) recently.

Recall that Danbaba left the APC in the Eighth Senate, alongside Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, to join PDP, where he contested and won the senatorial seat.

He was later sworn-in as Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District.
