About Warrior Nun Movie

In the American streaming television series Warrior Nun, produced by Simon Barry, the protagonist is a fantasy warrior named Warrior Nun, based on a character developed by Ben Dunn for his comic book series Warrior Nun Areala. After receiving a series order for a first season from Netflix, the production team reworked the idea from its original form as a feature film adaptation into a television series. Scenes are shot at several places in Andalusia, Spain, including Antequera, which represents the headquarters of the made-up Order of the Cruciform Sword.

Alba Baptista, who plays the paraplegic orphan Ava Silva, directs and narrates the series. When she realizes she possesses superhuman powers, she has no choice but to join a secret Order of Warrior Nuns from antiquity. Baptista’s first television appearance in English comes from this series. Cast members include Tristán Ulloa, Sylvia De Fanti, Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Lorena Andrea, and Kristina Tonteri-Young. On July 2, 2020, the series debuted on Netflix to mostly positive reviews. The show’s second season, aired on November 10, 2022, was renewed in August 2020.

Summary of the First Series

The first episode opens in a chapel, where we see Ava Silva’s dead body and a group of nuns led by Sister Shannon, the last Warrior Nun. Sister Shannon has passed away due to her wounds sustained in the recent conflict with the armed mercenaries. The holy relic must be swiftly removed from Sister Shannon and concealed within Ava’s body before the arrival of the mercenaries at the church. Ava is soon revived and goes on an adventure; she is no longer a tetraplegic and can walk. She puts her newfound mobility to use by wandering the city. She then decides to leap into a pool, but JC quickly comes to her rescue. JC takes Ava up to meet his pals, who have taken up residence on top of a mansion. Father Vincent and the church nuns discover Ava’s body’s disappearance. At the orphanage, Father Vincent searches for her. Sometime later, a Tarask from the underworld sneaks into the chapel and learns the holy relic has been removed from Sister Shannon’s person.

Mary traces the mercenaries’ ammunition to its manufacturer and supplier, and it quickly becomes evident that ArqTech is responsible for enlisting them. Cardinal Duretti gives a day for Father Vincent to locate the halo, but Father Vincent is unsure if it is intended for Ava. Ava feels out of place with JC’s pals, so they secretly invite her to an ArqTech event. At the celebration, Dr. Salvius of ArqTech shows off her ability to stabilize the Higgs field and create a quantum gateway. Even still, Cardinal Duretti admits that she utilized divinium and insists that the holy relic be restored to the church. In the third episode, Father Vincent explains to Ava how the Cruciform Sword Order came to be, starting with Areala of Cordoba. As part of Mother Superion’s brutal training, she shows Ava the suicide note from Ava’s orphanage file, which Ava categorically denies ever writing. Father Vincent cautions Superion to give Ava a chance, nevertheless. Later, after leaving a letter for Father Vincent, Ava runs away, saying simply, “I want my life.” After questioning the mercenary company’s captain, Macready, Mary concludes that the rigged crate was intended to kill only Shannon. Macready claims he did not know what was in the crates the crew was transporting for ArqTech. As JC and his companions enter a new home, they are met with a challenge from Dr. Salvius.

Episode 4 features the nuns breaking into ArqTech to retrieve the shield, with Beatrice showcasing her fighting skills. The Salvius family conflicts with the church and plans to enlist the rest of Macready’s staff to help them. As Ava and JC flee, JC leaves his friends behind to join her, but Ava leaves him at the airport with the promise that she will return to save Diego, whom she fears Sister Frances will kill because of Ava’s death. This is where Lilith shows Ava how dangerous she can be with her divinium sword. But Mary comes to Ava’s rescue and continues to get in Lilith’s way so that she may convince her to give Ava a chance throughout the episode. Ava and JC take a ship to Morocco but have to turn around when they can’t get rid of Lilith and Mary. JC has just finished chasing after Ava and will leave her for lying when a tarask attacks. When Ava uses Lilith’s sword to slay the tarask, she gets impaled on it and disappears along with the creature. That being the case, Ava immediately runs away from everyone.

Mother Superion stalks Ava, Vincent, and the nuns as they search the Vatican for Adriel’s remains in episode nine. Once Ava and Beatrice locate the vault, Ava phases inside, where she first encounters the divinium skeleton of a tarask before finally coming face to face with none other than Adriel himself. As the Papal Conclave deliberates over who would become the next Pope, Duretti notices the glimmer of his divinium ring and deduces that Ava must be hiding in the catacombs below. Duretti then sends Sister Crimson and the rejects to kill her, but Vincent and Mary are able to fend them off with the help of Mother Superion. During Lilith’s visit to ArqTech, Michael reassures her that Ava is “almost to the door.” When Mary tries to prevent Lilith from killing Sister Crimson and pursuing Ava, Lilith teleports to the caverns in time to save the nun.
