New Antalyaspor coach says he will sell Paul Mukairu for €5 million

Paul Mukairu has returned to training with Turkish Super Lig club Antalyaspor after Anderlecht did not take up a buy-out option following his loan spell at the Belgian club.

Paul Mukairu has returned to Antalyaspor after a season-long loan at Anderlecht and the Turkish club’s new coach has said he plans to sell the forward for at least five Million Euros.

This claim emerged just when it was revealed that Antalyaspor rejected a 1.7 Million Euros offer by Anderlecht for the player.

The buy-out option for Mukairu was put at 2.5 Million Euros, but Anderlecht tried to negotiate this figure downwards to 1.7 Million Euros, which Antalyaspor rejected.

Antalyaspor coach Ersun Yunal, who was appointed in November, has insisted on having Mukairu back because he believes he can make him a better player and thereafter sell him for at least five Million Euros.

“He was one of the reasons turned down the Anderlecht offer of 1.7 Million Euros because he told the club he will work on the player and sell him for five Million Euros within a season,” a source in Turkey said.

The 59-year-old coach has handled several top Turkish clubs including Fenerbache and Trabzonspor.
