Ousmane Dembele has a new Barcelona contract on the table and an offer from Chelsea. At the moment, he has not responded to either of them. Chelsea’s offer would give the Frenchman more money, ‘Sport’ says, but it would still not be enough to meet Dembele’s financial demands. However, things could change with a transfer bonus.
Dembele’s contract at Barcelona expires in four days. The club made him an offer back in the day which he still has not responded to. The club are considering setting a deadline of 1st July for him to make a decision.
Chelsea have also reportedly made him an offer. However, the Frenchman has apparently been left a little disappointed and it does not meet his salarial expectations, ‘Sport comments.
The Premier League side’s offer is superior financially to Barcelona’s, but it is still less than what Dembele wanted to earn.
The Frenchman thought that Chelsea would put more money on the table. The problem is that, at the same time, club are working on signing Sterling and so that has forced them to reduce their offer for the Barca player.
The difference between Chelsea and Barcelona’s offers is that Chelsea are offering him more money, but not by much. Therefore, Dembele has started having second thoughts over moving. He is asking himself whether it is worth changing club for such a small difference in salary.
Him renewing at Barca, ‘Sport’ stresses, looks difficult, but it has not been ruled out. Dembele wants to think it over properly. Chelsea’s offer could increase by a little bit if the club includes a transfer bonus, but that option would not be good enough for Dembele either.
The Dembele saga continues to run. The footballer must give an answer shortly to both clubs are they waiting to plan for the 2022-23 season to see whether it will be with or without him.
